About The Airport

Warsaw Chopin Airport is Poland's largest and busiest - in 2017, it handled approximately 16 million passengers. It is also the busiest airport of the newer EU member states. Until 2001, it was known as 'Warsaw - Okecie Airport' but was renamed in tribute to the Polish composer Frédéric Chopin. Serving Poland's capital, this airport has just one terminal, known as Terminal A. There were previously 2 terminals, which is why the different airport sections are confusingly referred to as Old Terminal (1) and New Terminal (2). Terminal A has a South Hall and a North Hall. Check-in areas A and B are located in the South Hall, while C, D and E are in the North Hall.

Free Wi-Fi is available for 2-hour sessions which can be renewed as soon as they've expired.

The airport is 10km from downtown Warsaw.

Taxi - you'll find the official taxi companies in the middle of the Arrivals hall. They offer fixed prices. Travelers are advised to avoid taxi drivers who approach people in the lobby.

Bus - bus services connect the airport with downtown Warsaw and with Wilanowska metro station. A small selection of these serve the city's biggest hotels and there's also a night service available - handy for those with a late flight. Buses leave from the bus station opposite South Hall (Arrivals level).

Train - a train runs from the airport to central Warsaw and the surrounding area. It takes roughly 20 minutes to reach the center. To get to the station, turn right after you leave the Arrivals area and walk to the end of the covered walkway. Once you go down the escalators there, the ticket booths will be in front of you. There's a café inside the train station.

Hotel shuttle - courtesy shuttles run to and from several nearby hotels including the Hampton by Hilton Warsaw Airport and the Airport Hotel Okecie.

Car rental - you'll find 10 or more car rental desks in the Arrivals hall.

Travelers can be dropped off in front of the terminal, however vehicles can only stay in this area for 7 minutes or the driver will be charged. There are currently 3 parking lots in operation which are all within walking distance of the airport - P1 and P2 are for short stays, while P4 is the long-term parking lot.

Transit arrangements are straightforward in this single-terminal airport. There's a minimum connection time of 40 minutes, but if you have more time to spare between flights, rest up in one of our lounges located in both the Schengen and non-Schengen areas.

Though there is no on-site hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott Warsaw Airport hotel is only a few yards away from the airport entrance.

There's an Italian-style café here, as well as a gift shop.

Sometimes passengers need to disembark from the aircraft at a remote stand, where a bus provides transport to the terminal.

Remember your coat in the winter months.

Airplane environments are dry, so it's important to stay hydrated when you fly. According to the Aerospace Medical Association, you should drink about eight ounces of water each hour you're in the air.
