The airport is well-connected to the city and surrounding areas, offering multiple convenient ways for passengers to access the terminals.

By car
LAX is accessible via several major highways, including the I-405 (San Diego Freeway) and the I-105 (Century Freeway). The drive from downtown Los Angeles typically takes around 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. The airport offers a variety of parking options, including short-term, long-term, and valet parking. Parking structures are located near each terminal, and a free shuttle service connects the long-term parking areas to the terminals. For more convenience, travellers can reserve parking spaces online in advance.

Taxis
Taxis can be found at the curbside Lower/Arrival Level by the yellow signs. Only taxis with the official seal of the City of Los Angeles are authorised to pick up travellers. Shared ride van services are also available.

By bus
The LAX FlyAway service connects all LAX terminals with various locations including Van Nuys, Union Station, Westwood, Santa Monica, and Hollywood. Buses pick up passengers in front of each terminal on the Lower/Arrivals Level islands. Shuttle buses also operate from the LAX City Bus Center near Parking Lot C, connecting it with all terminals.

By public transport

  • Metro Rail and Bus: The LAX FlyAway bus provides non-stop service between LAX and various locations in Los Angeles, including Union Station, Van Nuys, and Hollywood. The fare is approximately $9.75 one-way. The bus stops are located at each terminal on the lower level (Arrivals).
  • Metro Rail: Passengers can take the Metro Green Line to the Aviation/LAX Station, where they can transfer to the free LAX Shuttle Bus G, which connects to all terminals.

Ride-sharing services
