There are only a few places to eat and drink at Beirut Rafic Hariri Intl. A restaurant and café can be found before Security, and just a couple of cafés after Customs. Salt, the only restaurant in the Departures area has good reviews. Serving sushi in a classy setting with excellent views of the Mount Lebanon foothills and the airport runway, it can be found on the third floor.

The airport's modern duty-free area forms a 'shopping street' in the main terminal. It's conveniently divided into zones: fashion, perfumes and cosmetics, food and technology. Big brand names include Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren, Freywille, Lacoste, Hermès, and Virgin. Local jewelers Zoghaib & Sons has an outlet here, alongside international sellers like Swarovski. An array of cigars, cigarillos and accessories are on sale at La Casa Del Habano, which has a very large walk-in humidor; this store runs occasional raffles for customers to win a rare cigar. You'll also find a variety of local crafts and wares, including box sets of the Middle Eastern sweet baklava.

There's a full-service, sit-down restaurant if you're waiting for passengers to arrive, or are in need of a meal before your onward journey. A café serves lighter bites and hot drinks.

Two duty-free shops at Arrivals mean you can stock up on liquor, perfume and tobacco. A cell phone kiosk sells local SIM cards on the way out of the airport.

After clearing Security to get into the Departures area, be ready for a second security check when progressing to the gates in the east and west wings.
