Restaurants

There are half-a-dozen eateries before Security and about twice that number after Security. Choose from burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, Italian and Asian dishes, as well as a number of places to grab a coffee. The Great British Sausage Company is open 24 hours and there are also a couple of bars if you wish to enjoy a pre-flight drink.

Shopping

Duty-free shopping is available, along with a dozen or so other stores selling books, gadgets, travel essentials, fashion, sunglasses and souvenirs. The British homeware store, Oliver Bonas, has an outlet here, as well as brand names that include Kurt Geiger and Ted Baker. For Click-and-Collect online retail, visit the Aelia Duty Free website. If you're flying within the UK or EU, a Shop and Collect service is also available - just inform the staff at Aelia Duty Free, Dixons Travel, Kurt Geiger, Boots or Victoria’s Secret - and then collect your purchases in Arrivals on your return.

You can get snacks and drinks at four cafés in Arrivals. There are also kiosks selling food outside the terminal building.

Terminal tips

If you're lost or need some help, look out for the Passenger Service Assistants who you'll see all around the airport.

Their high-visibility uniform carries the 'i' information symbol, so they are easy to spot.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the terminal building; there's a smoking area outside Departures.

Some gates have stairs without lift access, so strollers need to be carried down.
