About The Airport

Also known as Shamshabad, this modern airport has won several awards for its green credentials and service quality. International flights are handled on the western side of the terminal, while the eastern side is for domestic flights. There's also an area called the Airport Village, which is the meeting point for arriving travelers.

Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available for 45 minutes. Passengers without an Indian mobile number will need to get a password from one of the Help desks (near Gate 28 in the Domestic Terminal and 32 in the International Terminal). For a simpler Wi-Fi experience, head to a Priority Pass lounge.

Getting to and from the airport

The airport is 24km from downtown Hyderabad.

Taxi - both metered and prepaid taxis are available. There's a surcharge between 23:00 and 05:00 and they only accept cash payments. Be wary of pre-booking a cab as you may have a long walk to find it.

Bus - an express bus service called the Pushpak-Airport Liner connects the airport with destinations around Hyderabad, and long-distance buses also serve the airport. Transit time to the city center is approximately 40 minutes. Tickets can be bought online or at desks in Arrivals.

Hotel shuttle - courtesy shuttles take guests to a few nearby hotels including the Airport Lodge and Novotel Hotel.

Car rental - 2 car rental firms operate from the airport, with both self-drive and chauffeured vehicles available. Hiring a driver is generally good value and recommended for visitors to India.

Parking

Both short- and long-term parking is available for over 3,000 vehicles near the terminal building. Rates vary per vehichle size and valet parking is available 24/7. Cars are allowed to stop for 90 seconds free of charge outside Arrivals to drop off/pick up travelers. There are also spaces on the Departures and Arrivals ramps for disabled customers to park their vehicles.

Transit and in-airport hotels

Transit arrangements are straightforward in this single-terminal airport. There's a dedicated transfer desk in Arrivals which provides support to passengers transiting from domestic flights to other domestic flights, as well as international flights.

The Plaza Premium Airport Transit Hotel is opposite the parking lot. Facilities include a business center and meeting rooms.

Healthy Travel Tip

It's generally recommended that you avoid drinking tap water while in India. Therefore, unpeeled fruit and vegetables, juices or salads sold on the street should also be avoided, as well as ice cubes in drinks.
