Lima Jorge Chavez Intl

Lima, Peru

About The Airport

Jorge Chávez International is Peru's main airport. It's named for Jorge Chávez Dartnell, a Peruvian aviator who died in the world's first attempt to cross the Alps by air. Although it's a compact airport with a single terminal, it's also one of South America's busiest airports, which is especially noticeable at night when international flights arrive. Planning for expanding the airport got underway in 2017.

To access Wi-Fi, buy a prepaid card from one of the stores before and after Security. Free Wi-Fi isn't available in the airport.

Jorge Chávez International is 11km from Lima's city center.

Taxi - Taxi counters are at international and domestic Arrivals. Although there are taxis outside the airport, it's recommended you take an official taxi for safety reasons.

Bus - Airport Express Lima runs between the airport and the Miraflores area, one of Lima's main visitor attractions. The stop is in the ground transport zone outside the airport and the journey lasts roughly 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Car rental - You'll find car rental desks in international and domestic Arrivals.

Short and long-stay parking is available in front of the airport's main building. Payments for short-stay parking can only be made in cash - Peruvian soles or USD. You can use a debit or credit card to pay for long-stay parking.

The Ramada Costa del Sol is just outside the Arrivals gate. It has its own spa, sauna and indoor pool.

Healthy Travel Tip

Unwind with a relaxing massage before your flight. You'll find Express Massage in the Terminal's public area on the second floor.
