About The Airport

São Paulo Guarulhos - often called just GRU Airport - is the main international airport serving São Paulo. One of the busiest airports in Latin America, it has 3 passenger terminals and is known locally as Cumbica Airport after the district it's in. The airport has the distinction of being located on the Tropic of Capricorn.

Getting to and from the airport

The airport is 25km from downtown São Paulo.

Taxi - Guarucoop, the exclusive taxi operator from GRU airport, has fixed rates according to the area of the city you're travelling to. It can be found at Arrivals in all 3 terminals. You can use any company when travelling to the airport.

Bus - buses connect the airport with Congonhas Airport, Republic Square, Tietê and Barra Funda bus terminals, Augusta Hotels Circuit and Tatuapé metro station.

Train - the nearest metro station is Tietê (Line 1 – Blue), which can be reached by bus.

Hotel shuttle - free airport shuttles are provided by nearby hotels including the Pullman São Paulo International Airport, Matiz Hotel Aeroporto Guarulhos and the São Paulo Airport Marriott Hotel.

Car rental - 5 car rental companies operate from the airport and can be found in Arrivals Terminals 2 & 3.

Parking operates 24 hours a day. Premium options are available at Terminals 2 and 3.

Transit and in-airport hotels

Shuttle buses run about every 15 minutes between Terminals 1, 2 and 3, stopping at the Arrivals level. From midnight to 5:00 they run every 30 minutes

You can walk between terminals via the air-conditioned footbridge - it takes 15-20 minutes.

Fast Sleep in Terminal 2 Arrivals offers small sleeping cabins as well as suites with private bathrooms. There's also the Wyndham transit hotel in Terminal 3 after Security - you need an international boarding pass to stay there. The five-star Pullman São Paulo Guarulhos is located at the airport's outer perimeter; it has a pool, tennis courts, spa, sauna and fitness center.
