Getting to and from the airport

Barajas Airport is 13km from Madrid city center.

Taxi - taxis pick up from outside the Arrivals area of all terminals. Travelers are advised to only use official taxis, which are white with a red stripe.

Bus - local and long-distance buses run from the airport to central Madrid, nearby towns and other parts of Spain.

Train - running from a station at T4, the Renfe Cercanias rail service connects the airport with locations across Madrid. There's also a metro link to the city, with one station for T1, T2 and T3 and another one for T4.

Hotel shuttle - there are free airport shuttles to many nearby hotels, including the Ibis Madrid Aeropuerto Barajas, TRYP Madrid Alameda Aeropuerto Hotel and Meliá Barajas.

Car rental - car rental counters are in T1 (Floor 0) and T4 (Floor -1).

Healthy Travel Tip

With its use of plentiful natural light, T4 provides a relaxing space for tired passengers. It makes use of natural materials too: take a look at the unusual bamboo ceiling supported by yellow pylons.
