About Tokyo-Narita International Airport

Tokyo-Narita International Airport is one of the two largest International Airports in Japan. Inaugurated in 1972, Narita Airport was initially designed to relieve congestion at the busy Haneda Airport, about 50 miles away.

Presently, Tokyo's Narita records over 38 million passengers monthly, making it the main international airport in Japan. Despite being far outside central Tokyo, the airport has been named the world's gateway to Tokyo.

Narita airport currently operates three terminals: T1, T2, and T3. Each provides a convenient and relaxing experience to visitors from far and near.

By car
Narita International Airport links to major highways, including the Higashi-Kanto Expressway and the Shin-Kuko Expressway. Visitors can access both short-term and long-term parking options at the airport, specifically at terminals 1 and 2. Taxis
Taxis in Japan are generally safe, and they carry green licence plates. Taxi ranks in Narita airport can be found outside each terminal:

  • Terminal 1: Arrivals area, 1st floor
  • Terminal 2: Arrivals area, 1st floor

By ride-sharing services
You can access ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft directly from Narita Airport. Designated pick-up points are located near the arrival areas of each terminal.
